In movies it shows that Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp met in Doge City. According to Wyatt Earp they met in a saloon in Fort Griffen, Texas, in the winter of 1877-1878. The real date is unknown.
A story is told about how Holliday saved Earp's life in Dodge City 1878. Two Texas cattle herders, Ed Morrison and Toby Driscall, were teasing Wyatt and were about to shoot him. Doc suddenly butted in with a revolver in each hand. Ed and Toby were distracted, so Wyatt pistol-whipped Morrison on the head. One was stupid enough to pull out their gun so Doc shot him without any hesitation. Doc and Wyatt were great friends since.
